Ex-Celsius CEO’s Lawyers Seek Speedy Exit From Bankruptcy Case

A Long Island law firm asked a court to quickly approve its request to withdraw as counsel for Alex Mashinsky, Celsius Network’s founder and former CEO, who is serving a 12-year prison sentence for fraud and market manipulation.

Mashinsky hasn’t paid outstanding legal fees and the parties had “irreconcilable differences” over litigation strategy in the Celsius Chapter 11 proceeding, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek PC said in a Tuesday filing in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Mashinsky effectively discharged the firm as his legal representative in the bankruptcy case, according to the filing.
