Event Rentals Confirms Chapter 11 Plan of Liquidation After Sale to Apollo

Event Rentals Inc., once the largest event-rental provider in the U.S., won approval of a liquidating Chapter 11 plan with support from everyone entitled to vote (In re After-Party2 Inc., Bankr. D. Del., No. 14-10282, plan confirmed).

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Peter J. Walsh in Delaware signed a confirmation order approving the plan on Aug. 27. The one objection to the plan was resolved.

Known as Classic Party Rentals, the Inglewood, Calif.-based company was sold in May to Apollo Global Management LLC for about $125.3 million cash plus assumption of specified liabilities. Following the sale, the remnant of the ...
