Energy Transfer to Invest $2.7 Billion in Permian Gas Pipeline

Energy Transfer LP plans to invest $2.7 billion to build a pipeline that will move natural gas out of the Permian Basin in Texas as output of the fuel swells.

The most prolific US oil patch is churning out growing volumes of natural gas — produced as a byproduct of fracking — but a lack of pipeline capacity has occasionally sent prices in western Texas into negative territory, essentially forcing producers to pay to get rid of it.
