One of the nation’s largest suppliers of comic books and collectibles has filed bankruptcy, saying its financial trouble mostly stems from the loss of exclusive distribution deals it had with major publishers Marvel Comics and DC Entertainment.

Diamond Comic Distributors Inc. and its affiliates sought court protection Jan. 14 in Baltimore and said it intends to sell the business.
