Eiger Biopharmaceuticals Inc.'s bankruptcy will continue in Dallas, a judge ruled, rejecting a motion from the Justice Department’s bankruptcy watchdog to transfer the case to another state.
The Justice Department’s US Trustee Program had argued Eiger didn’t have the necessary ties to Texas to legally file Chapter 11 there. Judge Stacey Jernigan of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas rejected those arguments at a Tuesday hearing.
“I find that venue has properly been met here,” Jernigan said.
