Dr. Phil’s Media Venture Bankruptcy Is Invalid, Broadcaster Says

Dr. Phil’s fallen media venture, Merit Street Media Inc., should be tossed out of a Texas bankruptcy court because its Chapter 11 case was filed in bad faith, its Christian broadcast partner said.

Merit Street’s bankruptcy was filed to gain a tactical advantage in litigation, Trinity Broadcasting Network of Texas Inc. told the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas in a July 18 motion. The company didn’t have corporate authority to file, Trinity added.
