Ditech Customers Cast Doubt on Value of MSRs

Ditech Holding Corp., the bankrupt mortgage servicer that’s trying to survive by refinancing or selling assets, keeps getting sued by homeowners who complain that Ditech’s failures are putting them in financial peril, too.

In the process, the homeowners are casting doubt on the value of Ditech’s assets.

  • Robert and Sally Hall of Virginia say that Ditech failed to apply payments on their home loan and demanded late fees, even when told of its mistake, according to papers the couple filed June 3. Ditech then sent the inaccurate information to credit reporting bureaus, the Halls allege.
