Party City is going to extremes to get spooky supplies on shelves in time for Halloween.

Faced with widespread supply chain disruptions -- and working on a tighter timeline than peers fretting Thanksgiving and Christmas -- Party City executives said at a conference last month they’ve taken to chartering their own freight ships to get goods from China onto shelves before it’s too late.
