Dish Wireless to Pay $17.3m to Resolve False Claims Allegations

Dish Wireless to pay $17.3m to resolve allegations it violated the False Claims Act and the Communications Act of 1934 relating to claims to the FCC’s Emergency Broadband Benefits Program and Affordable Connectivity Program.

• DOJ alleges Dish and its employees fraudulently signed up ineligible applicants to receive federal funds under the programs
• Civil settlement also resolves administrative order by the Wireline Competition Bureau of the FCC against Dish for similar allegations
