Bitcoin miner Genesis Digital Assets Ltd. moved to dismiss a lawsuit seeking the return of $1.15 billion in funds invested by Sam Bankman-Fried’s hedge fund before the collapse of his FTX business empire, saying the claims are misguided and jurisdictionally-barred.
Genesis Digital, a Cypriot company headquartered in Dubai, doesn’t have offices in the US and shouldn’t be forced to defend claims asserted in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware by a trust for FTX Trading Ltd. creditors, the cryptocurrency mining firm said in a filing Monday.
