Creditor Lawsuit Against Ex-Sears Owner Lampert Now in Mediation

A lawsuit against former Sears owner and chairman Eddie Lampert and other company shareholders is headed to mediation, according to a filing.

  • Judge Robert Drain, who oversaw the Sears bankruptcy, assigned Shelley Chapman, James Peck and Jed Melnick as co-mediators in the lawsuit
  • The lawsuit is what remains of a battle over assets following the retailer’s 2018 bankruptcy
