CREDIT DAYBOOK AMERICAS: Debt Spree Extends With Overnight Deals

Foreign financial firms Nordea Bank and Sumitomo Life are tapping the US investment-grade primary market Wednesday, as borrowers across the globe sell debt at a near-record pace to take advantage of resilient demand and a seasonally busy period.

  • The duo will add to Tuesday’s $43.3 billion of debt sold across 58 separate bonds — the most ever by number of securities
    • Yesterday’s supply didn’t appear to overwhelm investors as deals were 3.9 times oversubscribed and priced with average concessions of just 1.9 basis points, both better than 2025’s figures
