Crabtree and Evelyn Files for Bankruptcy Protection in Canada

Crabtree & Evelyn’s Canadian business has filed for bankruptcy protection in Canada under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.

The company “has suffered significant losses in the last few years and has only been able to continue to operate with the significant financial support of various related entities,” a petition filed in Montreal says. The petition says the company plans to begin liquidating inventory and other assets to maximize value, which will be distributed to creditors.
