Comcar Industries Files Bankruptcy, Eyes Sale of Trucking Units

Comcar Industries Inc. filed for bankruptcy with plans to auction off its trucking subsidiaries, falling victim to an industrywide recession that has affected hundreds of freight transporters.

The Auburndale, Fla.-based hauling company filed for Chapter 11 relief Sunday at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Comcar listed $66.7 million worth of assets and $85.6 million in liabilities, looking to stanch more than a year of losses by selling its four standalone businesses.
