Coldwater Creek Gets Approval to Hold Store-Closing Sales Before Mother’s Day

Coldwater Creek Inc., the women’s clothing retailer, won bankruptcy court approval to hold going-out-of-business sales at its more than 370 stores ahead of Mother’s Day, a key sale period for the company (In re Coldwater Creek Inc., Bankr. D. Del., No. 14-10867).

Coldwater will hold a May 1 auction to determine the best offer from liquidators to run the sales, followed by a May 6 hearing to seek court approval of the winning bid. The company intends to start the sales by May 8. Mother’s Day is May 11.
