Christmas Tree Shops Explores Funding Options Amid Cash Squeeze

Christmas Tree Shops Inc. has been sounding out investors for more funding as the discount retailer continues to burn cash, according to people with knowledge of the situation.

The company has been pursuing a sale and leaseback deal of its Massachusetts distribution center, to help ease short-term liquidity pressures and avert a potential cash crunch, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private. It has been getting advice from FTI Consulting, they said.
