Christian television station Trinity Broadcasting Network moved to toss a lawsuit brought by Dr. Phil McGraw’s bankrupt media venture, Merit Street Media Inc., over alleged failures to uphold production commitments.
Merit’s Chapter 11 case and lawsuit against the Fort Worth-based Trinity Broadcasting of Texas Inc. were filed without proper corporate authority and its contract breach allegations are unenforceable, Trinity told the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas in a Thursday motion.
