Charlotte Russe Plans 100 U.S. Retail Stores Under New Owner YM

Clothing retailer Charlotte Russe will open 100 stores in the U.S. under new owner YM Inc. after the brand was sold in its previous parent’s bankruptcy, YM said.

Five of the new stores opened on June 5, according to YM, a Toronto-based fashion company whose brands include Urban Planet and Sirens.

YM, which operates 560 stores in North America, bought the Charlotte Russe brand in March for $5 million from its previous parent, Charlotte Russe Holding Inc.

Charlotte Russe Holding filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Feb. 3 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
