Carrols Says Bankruptcy Court Filings in Its Name Are Fraudulent

Bankruptcy petitions filed in the name of restaurant company Carrols Corp are fraudulent, the company and officials with the Office of the US Trustee said in court filingson Monday.

  • “Carrols is not a financially troubled company,” said Jared Landaw, the general counsel for Carrols
  • Carrols is the largest Burger King franchisee in the US, operating over 1,000 Burger King restaurants in 23 states, and also owns and operates 60 Popeyes restaurants in six states, according to the court filing
    • Carrols generated over $1.8 billion of restaurant sales during the 2023 fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2023
