Carlyle is preparing to take ownership of The Very Group which had been owned by the Barclay family, Sky News reports, citing people familiar with the matter.

• Could assume ownership as soon as October
  • Likely to hold majority stake
• Expected to told talks in coming weeks with fellow creditors including Abu Dhabi-based IMI
  • IMI could end up with an equity stake or preferred position in the debt structure
• Carlyle, Very Group and IMI declined to comment to Sky
