Canyon’s Heller, Kamensky Leave Hedge Fund After 13 Years

Canyon Partners executives Jonathan Heller and Sergey Kamensky have left the firm after more than 13 years, according to an investor letter seen by Bloomberg.

Heller, who headed up Canyon’s New York office, focused on investments in financial services, technology, real estate and municipal debt, including the firm’s major bet on Puerto Rican bonds.

Kamensky, who was also based in New York, similarly focused on financials and municipal debt, among other sectors. The pair, who each held partner rank, joined Canyon in 2008 from Cerberus Capital Management.
