A doctor accused of libeling Johnson & Johnson fired back at the health-care giant, saying it uses frivolous litigation to silence medical researchers from publishing information that challenges the safety of its talc-based consumer products..

Occupational medicine doctor Jacqueline Moline, who has testified in more than 200 cases alleging J&J products caused mesothelioma, filed a counterclaim to J&J’s long-running complaint accusing her of fabricating data. In a 2020 article, she found that 33 cancer patients she studied were exposed to no other known source of asbestos other than talcum powder.
