Canadian Satellite Firm Offers to Help Trump’s Golden Dome

Telesat Corp., Canada’s biggest satellite company, said it can help President Donald Trump’s so-called Golden Dome missile defense system.

The low-earth orbit satellite fleet that Ottawa-based Telesat is building, called Lightspeed, “could make valuable contributions,” Chief Executive Officer Dan Goldberg said on a call with analysts Wednesday. “And so that’s something that we’re watching.”

He also warned that the proposed $175 billion Golden Dome project, inspired by Israel’s Iron Dome interceptor rockets, is still being defined, and there’s uncertainty about whether Canada might participate.
