California-Based Solar Millennium Files For Chapter 11 Protection in Delaware

SAN FRANCISCO—Another California-based solar energy firm April 2 filed for federal bankruptcy protection, following its German parent into insolvency (In re Solar Millennium Inc., Bankr. D. Del., No. 1:12-bk-11137).

Solar Millennium Inc., an Oakland, Calif.-based holding company for Solar Trust of America and other affiliated entities, was founded in 2005 by their ultimate corporate parent Solar Millennium AG to develop utility scale solar energy projects in the American Southwest, according to filings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
