Brilliant Energy Sells Residential Contracts for $2.23 Million

Bankrupt Texas electricity retailer Brilliant Energy LLC sold its residential customer contracts to Octopus Energy US for $2.23 million.

• U.S. Bankruptcy Judge David Jones approved the sale in a hearing Wednesday
• The sale price could decline if customers opt to terminate their existing contracts
• The offer from Octopus was by far the best bid for the contracts, Chapter 7 Trustee Randy Williams said in court testimony
