Brazilian household goods manufacturer Bombril filed a request for protection from creditors in a local court, it said in a securities filing.
- Company blamed relevant tax contingencies for the request
- Brazil’s revenue service is charging Bombril or alleged failure to pay taxes on transactions involving the acquisition of foreign debt securities
- Total aggregated amount involved is around 2.3 billion reais
