Brazilians Scour Florida for Art, Mansion Tied to Fallen CEO (1)

Brazilian officials are searching for artwork, luxury real estate and other assets in Florida tied to financier Daniel Vorcaro and his failed Banco Master SA, seeking to recover funds after what may be the country’s biggest ever banking fraud.

Banco Master’s liquidator, working on behalf of the central bank, filed papers in federal bankruptcy court in Miami on Jan. 29 to subpoena 22 entities. They include real estate brokers, a bank near Orlando, top art dealers like the Gagosian and Pace galleries, and the auction houses Sotheby’s and Christie’s.
