Boy Scouts Fee Feud Isn’t Bankruptcy Issue, Mass Tort Firm Says

Mass tort plaintiffs’ firm Slater Slater Schulman LLP said a Delaware bankruptcy court lacks jurisdiction to adjudicate a feud with former clients seeking to terminate contingency fee arrangements stemming from the Boy Scouts of America bankruptcy.

The New York-based firm, accused of deceiving thousands of former scouts about the status of their sex abuse claims in the Boy Scouts Chapter 11 settlement process, pushed back Thursday against efforts by 14 former clients to have the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware consider requested punishments for the firm.
