Bolivia Gets $350m Chinese Loan for Zinc Refining Plant: Govt

Bolivia President Luis Arce signed an agreement with China for a $350m loan to build a zinc refining plant in the department of Oruro, according to a government statement sent by text message.

  • The plant, which is expected to start operations in 2025, will process 150,000 tons of zinc concentrate per year and 65,000 tons of metallic zinc
  • Govt projects $32m of net income per year from the plant
