Blue Apron’s Meal Maker Files Bankruptcy After Food Recalls (1)

FreshRealm, the exclusive maker of meal kits for Blue Apron, filed for bankruptcy with plans to sell its assets and settle a food-recall dispute that helped pressure the company into seeking court protection from creditors.

Under a proposal that must be approved by a federal judge, FreshRealm would sell its operations that supply Blue Apron to Misfit Market,an online grocer that delivers food to customers’ homes. Misfit has a deal to continue supplying Blue Apron, according to documents filed Monday in federal court in New Jersey.
