Barnes & Thornburg Fights Sanctions Bid in Rhodium Bankruptcy

Barnes & Thornburg LLP and former board members of Rhodium Encore LLC pushed back on a call for sanctions stemming from a fight over $11.5 million in attorney fees paid to special counsel for the bankrupted Bitcoin miner.

Lehotsky Keller Cohn LLP has improperly turned a good faith dispute over Chapter 11 fees—which the firm won—into a bid for sanctions, two former Rhodium Encore directors and attorneys at Barnes & Thornburg argued in separate briefings filed March 6 with the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
