Bankrupt Silver Airways’ Case Shifts to Liquidation After Closure

A bankruptcy judge approved converting fallen Silver Airways LLC’s case to Chapter 7 liquidation after the US airline ceased operations last month.

Judge Peter D. Russin of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida granted Chapter 11 trustee Soneet Kapila’s motion after finding “good cause” for the conversion, according to a Monday filing.

Silver Airways, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December 2024, closed a sale of its assets in June.
