Bankrupt Nevada Solar Plant Taps Construction Business for Sale

Tonopah Solar Energy LLC has tapped a $7 million offer by a construction company to start the bidding for its thermal concentrated solar power plant in Nevada.

Sons of Liberty Construction Inc. would set the floor price for bidding on most of the assets of the twice-bankrupt company, according to a Feb. 20 notice in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The offer, which comes after outreach to 253 potential bidders, represents a small fraction of the company’s $173 million in debt to lender and parent Crescent Dunes Finance Inc. The facility had an estimated fixed ...
