Bankrupt Genesis Healthcare Inc. had one of its senior care facilities decertified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, leading the provider to start transferring 105 residents to nearby, unaffiliated locations.
The decertification of 148-bed Magnolia Ridge in Gardendale, Ala. became effective Monday, putting the nursing home provider on a 30 day clock to move residents elsewhere and shut down the facility, Genesis attorney Daniel Simon of McDermott Will & Emery LLP said during a Monday status conference in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.
