BakerHostetler Moves to Toss $100 Million Insurance Fraud Suit

BakerHostetler moved to dismiss a lawsuit accusing it of aiding a massive insurance fraud, saying the statute of limitations for certain claims has expired and that the firm has immunity under Texas law.

The suit, filed last year by the trustee of the Alliance Health Liquidating Trust, accused BakerHostetler of helping the pharmaceutical company and its affiliates perpetuate a scheme that resulted in more than $100 million in damages. The trust was created through Alliance Health’s liquidation plan following its 2017 bankruptcy.
