Bain-Backed Restaurant Chain’s Bankruptcy Sale Plan Approved

The operator of Bamboo Sushi, a West Coast chain of restaurants backed by Bain Capital, won court approval to reorganize in bankruptcy by selling the business to an affiliate of Sortis Holdings Inc.

Sustainable Restaurant Holdings Inc. is poised to continue operating under the ownership of an entity newly created by Sortis, called SRG Reloaded Inc. To complete the sale, Sustainable Restaurant had to overcome objections raised by its ousted founder during a telephonic hearing Wednesday at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
