With two weeks to go before a deadline to save Astaldi SpA, two of its largest lenders are resisting calls to inject equity to support a rescue plan, according to two people familiar with the negotiations.
Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA and BNP Paribas SA’s Italian division Banca Nazionale del Lavoro SpA don’t intend to participate in a 600 million euro ($672 million) capital increase by Salini Impregilo SpA, said the people, asking not to be named because it’s private. After raising the capital, Salini plans to inject new money into Astaldi.
