Asian Street Food Restaurant Hawkers Files Chapter 11

Hawkers Asian Street Food filed Chapter 11 to protect itself from a lender, becoming the latest entry in a string of restaurant-chain bankruptcies.

Hawkers joins a group of restaurants including Red Lobster, Italian eatery Buca di Beppo, and craft-beer focused chain World of Beer that have filed for bankruptcy in recent months.

Many of those restaurants have pointed to Covid-related difficulties and inflation, but Hawkers said it filed Chapter 11 to protect itself from a specific lender.
