Art Van Furniture Gets Green Light to Start Closing Sales

Bankrupt retail chain Art Van Furniture, LLC has received interim authorization to start store closing sales.

The interim order signed Monday by Judge Christopher Sontchi of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware allows Art Van to move ahead with its goal of liquidating assets and winding down its business under Chapter 11.

Sontchi previously put the sales on hold out of concern over Art Van’s agreement with liquidators.
