Argentina’s government sold dollars on Friday for the fourth day this week as it looks to stem a drop in the peso, according to three people with direct knowledge of the matter.
- The central bank made the sales, but it often acts as the Treasury’s financial agent in the local currency market
- BCRA sold between $196 million and $216 million at 1,425 pesos per dollar, according to the people, who declined to be named as they are not allowed to speak on the record
