Apollo Hires Cortese From Barclays to Lead Credit Trading (1)

Apollo Global Management Inc. has hired John Cortese from Barclays Plc to lead the firm’s credit trading business globally, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Cortese, a high-yield debt veteran who serves as Barclays’ co-head of U.S. credit trading alongside Drew Mogavero, joined the British bank in 2008 after spending six years at Lehman Brothers, according to Broker Check. Mogavero is expected to continue to lead the business after Cortese leaves, said the people, who asked not to be identified as the details are private.
