American Towers Sues Dish Over Contracts Worth $210 Million (1)

American Towers LLC sued Dish Wireless, claiming the telecom company controlled by billionaire Charlie Ergen is using the sale of $40 billion in wireless spectrum as an excuse to quit paying to use cell towers.

In letters to American Towers, Dish said it was no longer obligated to lease space on the cell towers because Dish’s parent, EchoStar Corp., had been forced to sell valuable wireless spectrum to AT&T Inc. and SpaceX, according to a lawsuit filed in federal court in Denver last week.
