The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Department of Justice have authorized enforcement actions alleging discrimination in auto financing by American Honda Finance Corp. (AHFC), the company said in a securities filing.
The Dec. 2 filing said the agencies allege discrimination in loan pricing to certain borrowers by dealers. The agencies claim that pricing disparities were caused by AHFC’s business practices related to dealers, AHFC said.
“AHFC intends to continue to cooperate with the Agencies to find a mutually agreeable resolution,” the company said.
