ACLU Moves to Weigh in on Prison Medical Provider Bankruptcy

The American Civil Liberties Union urged a bankruptcy court to allow it to file a brief in support of prisoners who moved to dismiss a prison medical company’s Chapter 11.

The ACLU and several other advocacy groups joined the US Trustee, which serves as the Justice Department’s bankruptcy watchdog, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) in support of a tort claimants committee’s motion to reject Tehum Care Services Inc.'s proposed Chapter 11 plan and throw out the bankruptcy.
