Abuse Survivors Seek Shot to Forge Boy Scouts’ Bankruptcy Plan

The Boy Scouts of America’s sexual abuse claimants asked a judge to remove the organization’s right to steer its course out of bankruptcy, accusing it of shortchanging victims and capitulating to its insurance providers.

The Coalition of Abused Scouts for Justice—a group of more than 11,000 men with sexual abuse claims against the Boy Scouts—on Thursday urged the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to strip away the non-profit’s exclusive right to propose a Chapter 11 plan.
