Zelle Says Payments Sent Last Year Surged 20% to $1.2 Trillion

Zelle, the bank-owned service that allows consumers and businesses to pass money to each other, said the total volume sent on its platform last year jumped 20% to more than $1.2 trillion.

An average of $3.4 billion moved on Zelle every day in 2025, according to a statement Wednesday. In December, a record 100 million bank and credit union accounts used Zelle, the busiest month for the platform.
