Wells Fargo to Pay Nearly $20 Million to Settle DACA Suits (1)

Wells Fargo Bank NA will pay nearly $20 million to settle claims it refused to issue credit cards, car loans, mortgages and other lines of credit to people protected from deportation under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program.

The bank will also change its lending practices for auto loans, credit cards, student lending, small business lending, personal lines and loans, and home mortgages to extend credit to DACA recipients on the same terms and conditions as U.S. citizens, under the terms of two settlements submitted for preliminary approval to the Northern District of California.
