A bid to keep Wells Fargo & Co.’s interim leader around longer is still alive.
Members of the San Francisco-based bank’s board are considering leaving Allen Parker, 64, in the role of chief executive officer, Reuters reported June 5, citing unidentified people.
Bloomberg reported in May that senior executives were advising directors to name Parker to ensure continuity and allow more time to groom a longer-term successor. A company spokeswoman declined to comment on the status of that pitch June 5.
