Visa, Mastercard Suspend Payments for Pornhub’s Ad Arm (1)

Visa Inc. and Mastercard Inc. suspended card payments for the firm that handles ad purchases on Pornhub and parent company MindGeek after a court ruled last week that Visa must face claims it profited from child pornography.

Acceptance privileges for TrafficJunky, MindGeek’s advertising arm, were pulled “until further notice,” Visa said in a statement Thursday. Mastercard said in a separate statement that it was taking similar action, based on “new facts” brought to light by the court ruling.
