UniCredit Names Ex-UBS Dealmaker Andrea Orcel as Next CEO (3)

UniCredit SpA named Andrea Orcel chief executive officer, tasking the former UBS Group AG investment banking head with resuscitating growth and navigating a path between shareholders and government at Italy’s second biggest bank.

Orcel’s nomination to replace Jean Pierre Mustier will be presented at the bank’s annual general meeting on April 15, the Milan-based lender said in a statement on Wednesday. Bloomberg had earlier reported that UniCredit planned to tap him for the position.
